Hi, I’m Peta Hooke

I'm an Australian disability advocate and the creator and host of The I Can’t Stand Podcast, a Melbourne based interview podcast focused on disability, lived experience, and culture.

I live with cerebral palsy and use long form conversation to explore disability as part of everyday life, including work, relationships, identity, culture, and representation.

I created The I Can’t Stand Podcast to answer the questions people often have about disability, not through simplified explanations or 'inspiration', but through real conversations grounded in lived experience.

My lived experience informs conversations across the podcast, which explores disability in Australia through long form interviews spanning many conditions, identities, and experiences.

This podcast is for anyone who wants a more honest understanding of disability informed by lived experience.
